Weinregionen China

The wine regions of China are mainly in the north, in the provinces of Shandong, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Jilin, Liaoning, Xinjiang, Ningxia, Gansu and Inner Mongolia and in the southwest in the provinces of Yunnan and Sichuan.

Ningxia is located on 38 degrees north latitude in the "Golden Zone" for viticulture worldwide and is also listed in the "World Atlas of Wine".

Here is a video about the Ningxia wine region.

As shown in the map, there are six sub-regions, summarized as the "Eastern Helan Mountains" wine region, which includes almost 200 wineries.

Ningxia is often described as China's answer to Bordeaux in France. Inspired by the classifications in Bordeaux, the Ningxia Wine Federation adopted the five-classification system in 2013 to assess the wineries every two years.
